Come stay in our village where time stands still and tourists are a rare treat. Using our handmade bamboo huts as your base camp, you can fill your days exploring the lovely lush countryside and watching the townspeople go about their daily tasks as our ancestors did before us. We are located right in the heart of town an easy walk from everything including shopping of local wares and very frequent and affordable public transportation to more adventures. Villa Shivalay- A luxurious solar-powered homestay

Villa Shivalay is a beautiful, quaint solar-powered bungalow, with 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms for 6-7 guests. It has a lovely lawn with a garden. The place is only 45 mins from the Kaziranga National park, 60 mins from Hollongapar Gibbon sanctuary and 30 mins from the Jorhat airport. We can organize safaris for guests. Your hosts Bina and Prakash (my parents) live upstairs and will treat you to lovely vegetarian meals with ingredients sourced from their private organic farm behind the house.

Just 15-20 minutes of sailing off the river banks, there you are at this island full of cows, foxes & wild horses; an island untouched, waiting to be explored.

We have now provision for overnight stays in tent with common hygienic washrooms . Now you can have a family outing or overnight stays and feel the nature . You can also make a plan to visit Gibbon reserve forest for a nature trail and observe the Gibbon in their natural habitat.
