The Carriage - A first class experience

Step back in time to this restored 1950's Pullman railway carriage, with the added luxury of 21st century amenities. The Carriage is set on tracks where the original line ran through Ullock on the fringe of the Lake District National Park, with the river Marron running below. Relive a unique journey with the addition of being able to step out onto the platform for sunbathing, breakfast or your evening meal then retire to the antique king sized bed with dressing room, ensuite and Eden toiletries.

An excellent base to explore all that the western lakes have to offer, and with amazing walking & cycling right from the cottage door it makes it the perfect place to make special memories with Family & Friends

Recently renovated quirky 2 bedroom miner's cottage, ideal for exploring the less well known Western Fells and glorious Cumbrian coastline. There is on street parking available in the layby across the road, and a private garden with dining area to the back of the property. Situated within walking distance of the award winning Ennerdale Craft Brewery serving locally brewed ales and home cooked food.

Enjoy wonderful views of the Ennerdale fells, extending to Pillar and Steeple. The spacious, comfortable accommodation forms the main section of a larger semi-detached property. You will have the house to yourselves - we will be far away, but contactable should you have any questions or issues. It's self check-in and check-out. There are many good and varied walks nearby, as well as scenic drives and gastro pubs. You will need to bring groceries with you - breakfast is not supplied.

Two beautiful bedrooms one of which can turn into single beds and each with their own bathrooms offers flexibility for both couples and families. We have a well equipped cooks kitchen with Everhot range and a stocked larder. Parking for three cars , EV charger , bike storage , gardens and a BBQ this is a great base to enjoy the magic of our Lakeland valley.

Parking for two cars and storage for bikes, this is a great base to enjoy the magic Lakes and surrounding area. The lovely market town of Cockermouth is just a 13 minute drive away.

Dating back to 1695 (as engraved on the fireplace in the kitchen), the cottage retains many original features but has been sympathetically modernised. The cottage resides within our farm, Terrace Farm with open countryside and panoramic views of the Lakeland Fells and numerous Wainwrights including Melbreak, Whiteside, Low Fell, Hopegillhead to name but a few.

Granted UNESCO World Heritage Status in 2017, this area makes an ideal base for touring NW Cumbria, cycling, hiking fells & round lakes, climbing, canoeing, an en-route stopover for the Coast to Coast Cycle Route or a peaceful, romantic location for a countryside retreat.
