The house faces south towards the water and overlooks a gorgeous blueberry field that turns a majestic shade of deep red in the fall. Enjoy your morning coffee on the screened porch before heading out for a hike around Long Pond, a swim at Echo Lake, or a walk into town for the weekly Farmer’s Market, shops and restaurants - all a mile or less away! End your day around the outdoor fire pit, roasting marshmallows or enjoying an evening cocktail.

The Seamist Cottage - Converted Historic Barn

Cozy, fully converted historic barn within easy walking distance to the rocky shore of Bass Harbor, a busy lobstering port. An ideal, pet friendly, home base while exploring Acadia National Park. The Seamist is located on "the quietside" of the island. Six minutes from Southwest Harbor and thirty minutes to Bar Harbor, the Seamist also offers guests private hot tub access! Two guests maximum, not a suitable space for children. Please keep allergies in mind when booking. No smoking.

Snow Sweet at The Appleton Retreat is very private, check out the Trail Map. This contemporary yurt faces the Field of Dreams and has a nice view of Appleton Ridge. It features a private therapeutic hot tub on the deck, a fire pit, and fast wifi. The Appleton Retreat encompasses 120 acres hosting six unique retreats. To the south is the Pettengill Stream, a resource protected area. To the north is the Nature Conservancy's 1300 acre reserve.

Enjoy free public access to the ocean anytime with a short walk from the property, a great place to kayak or swim. In the fall enjoy the fall foliage and great hikes on the island or in neighboring areas including Acadia.
