Forest & Forage House: Finnish wood-fired sauna

Forest & Forage House sits on 11 private acres on Quadra Island, surrounded by mature forest, organic gardens and a large lawn. Beyond the gardens are a traditional Finnish wood-fired sauna, cold plunge and outdoor shower. Designed by architect Rob Wood and built by J. Toelle Construction, its timber frame was made from trees felled and milled on the property. South-facing windows overlook trees and gardens, and the living room has a wood stove. Much of the 20-year-old interior remains original.

The loft rests directly across from the ocean with a direct view of the Quadra Island lighthouse. A 5-minute walk from Stories Beach, where you can enjoy beach combing and lounging at low tide and a refreshing swim at high tide. We are a 15 minute drive away from downtown Campbell River, 10 minutes to some of the best beaches on the island, and 30 minutes to Mt. Washington. The Five Firs is the perfect place to relax after your island adventure.
