We enjoy welcoming guests to "Rongahuset", our home in the picturesque village of Evanger, alongside the E16 between Voss and Bergen in western Norway. Our guest rooms are on the 3rd floor. We are currently renovating the guest floor, and from this summer, we will have two guest rooms with private, ensuite bathrooms, and two rooms with with a shared guest bathroom in the hallway. On the same floor, there will be a simple shared guest kitchen and living room. All guests are also welcome to use our family kitchen, music room, living rooms and other common areas. We have a piano, guitars and other instruments, and many books. There is free wifi throughout the house. The TV has a Chromecast for streaming, but no channels. Staying with us gives an opportunity to meet an active British-Norwegian family and experience family life in a Norwegian setting. My youngest children aged 10 and up live here, and I also have adult children who visit from time to time, so there can be a lot of activity. This is probably not the best place to sleep in late in the mornings - though we all make an effort to be considerate! The children are active and have many interests, and I do my best to raise them to be well-mannered, thoughtful and independent, but they are challenging at times, and they can behave very much like kids! I expect them to be polite, but I allow them to choose how friendly to be towards guests; they have their own rooms and bathroom in another part of the house for privacy. They often enjoy having other children here as guests. They are bilingual, and speak both English and Norwegian. Our house is not luxurious, but a large, comfortable and rustic family home. We enjoy having guests, and you can interact with us as much - or as little - as you like. When I’m at home, I enjoy a chat, and I'm happy to recommend places to visit and things to do. It’s also fine if you prefer to relax in your room during your stay! We often host workawayers, volunteers from around the world, which means that there is someone in the house during the day, and many people at the dinner table – this has been impossible due to the pandemic, but is now starting to come back. Breakfast is included with all reservations, and we can usually offer a family dinner for NOK 150 per person. Our meals are mainly vegetarian plus fish, but we quite often serve meat as a side dish. If you would like to cook your own dinner, you are welcome to use the guest kitchen or our family kitchen. The closest restaurants are in Voss or Dale. Same-week or even same-day requests are fine, but please book early if you can. Covid-19 We still have some measures in place to protect our guests and ourselves, including rigorous cleaning routines and hand sanitiser dispensers. All guests must observe national guidelines, including any quarantine regulations and travel restrictions. This is not a suitable place to stay when in quarantine. Neighborhood overview Evanger is a tiny village an hour by car/train from Bergen and 15-20 minutes from Voss. The village is quiet and peaceful, yet the railway station and bus stops are just a few minutes' walk from the house. If you bring a car, you can park for free in the street or in the car park behind the house. Evanger is an excellent starting point for hiking, climbing, rafting or skiing, fjord tours, kayaking, boat trips and fishing. Voss is a small town with lot of activity, summer and winter, and it is a great place for hiking, skiing, extreme sports, and music. Voss hosts an annual jazz festival the weekend before Easter, an extreme sports festival in June, and a folk music festival in late October, in addition to sports events and concerts throughout the year. Bergen is within easy reach, and as Norway's second largest city, is well worth a visit. Get around From here, you can visit Gudvangen, Flåm, Voss, Bergen and other nearby places by car, train and bus, or join the Norway in a Nutshellround trip. Train and bus connections to Voss, Bergen and Oslo are quite good. You can travel conveniently and efficiently to/from Bergen Airport by train and light rail – the light rail “Bybanen” stops directly outside the railway station in Bergen, and goes straight to the airport. In winter, the morning and afternoon trains correspond with the free ski bus to Myrkdalen Ski Resort. If you are going to Voss Resort Bavallen, you can step from the train onto the gondola (Voss Gondol), which takes you to the top of Hangursfjellet. All Voss Resort ski passes include the gondola. After the Trolltunga hike, you can reach Evanger by car, but not by public transport. Going to Trolltunga from here is not recommended, as you will need to leave extremely early in the morning to start the hike in time. A comfortable room for 2 people, with a double bed, suitable for one person or a couple (140 cm width). Cot on request. This room is located on the 3rd floor (UK 2nd floor), with steep, old-fashioned stairs. No elevator! Guests are welcome to use the kitchen, music room and living rooms. The bathroom is located across the hallway, and is shared with another guest room for 1-4 people. Maximum 6 people will use this bathroom.

Modern flat in the heart of Bergen!

Welcome to this four-bedroom elegant apartment in the heart of Bergen. The apartment was elegantly renovated in 2011, and is located smack in the middle of the city center, within walking distance of just about everything Bergen has to offer. The entire apartment is for rent, you will have it to yourselves. Total of four bedrooms, sleeps eight people. Two of the bedrooms are equipped with king-size beds, whilst the other two have small double beds. Easy parking nearby and self check-in.

Good breakfast & bed in a charming house from 1929

Hi! Welcome to my all-year-around Airbnb! A good breakfast with bread and homemade jam mm. is included every morning. Sometimes I make scones, pancakes or something extra for breakfast. The bus to the city centre is 150 m away and leaves every 15 min. The tram to the city centre is 400 m away and leaves every 8 min. A big supermarket is 500 m away. I have a very cute cat, Antoni, he goes in and out as he wants. There are 25 steps downwards from the road to the house. No WiFi!

Koselig og rolig rom midt i Bergen sentrum med gangavstand til det meste. Det er under 10 minutter å gå til de fleste severdigheter i sentrum. NB dette er en penthouseleilighet som ligger i sjette etasje uten heis. Sengen er 160 cm bred og er utstyrt med to dyner dersom det er to gjester. Det er mulig å leie et ekstra rom dersom dere er 3-4 personer - send meg en melding dersom dere ønsker dette.

Det perfekte stopp på vei til Bergen eller for å nyte fredelige Vinnes ved mektige Bjørnafjorden. Nær sjø og fjell med muligheter for vandreturer, fiske og bading. Kun 1 time til Bergen sentrum eller til Hardangerfjorden. Jeg tilbyr to rom og eget bad i 1. etasje. Det ene rommet med utsikt over fjorden. Selv bor jeg i andre etasje, hvor jeg også serverer frokost.
