Stone Cottage in Grounds of a 16th-Century Castle

The cottage sits on the grounds of a castle dating back to 1543 offering an authentic stay. The interior retains a decor that matches the historic charm of the area with modern comforts added and a shared pool in the stunning gardens outside. This is our smallest cottage and cannot take an additional bed or cot. The other cottages are all larger and can do this. All 3 cottages can be rented separately or together. They are in the grounds of a 16th century castle with beautiful gardens and large swimming pool enclosed by stone walls. The lower salon and summer kitchen in the main chateau is available to share. Access is by the side garden gate and all cottages are accessed by stone steps- sadly not suitable for wheelchairs. We will most likely be present living in the main Chateau and available to help and advise about restaurants and things to do in the area. We will share the pool and gardens. The old village is in a beautiful part of France that is has retained its iconic beauty through the centuries and still feels untouched by modern life in many places. Experience true local dining and bakeries with scenic walking trails all around. parking is in the church square below the Chateau. There is a local taxi service in the village and bus service to Avignon, Banyols sur Ceze and Uzes but car hire is recommended. We are 20 minutes from Avignon TGV rail station and about an hour from Marseille, Nimes or Montpellier airports. The cottages are completely private and tranquil.

Bercés par le chant des oiseaux et des cigales, vous pourrez vous ressourcer dans le plus grand des calmes et au plus près de la nature. Le logement est situé au cœur du Pays des Vans en Cévennes, une localisation idéale pour visiter le Sud Ardèche. En Drôme provençale, à côté de Grignan, entre vignes et lavande, notre gîte est le seul de la propriété. Il se trouve à l'étage, pour quatre personnes adultes, attenant aux mas des propriétaires. Pièce à vivre de 48 m2, avec cuisine ouverte toute équipée, coin détente avec téléviseur 127 cms, climatisation. Suite parentale de 35 m2 avec douche italienne, double vasques, wc indépendant, climatisation. Mezzanine de 30 m2. Les deux lits font 160X200. Terrasse privative avec barbecue weber.

On the edge of the historical centre, in the midst of a Provençal garden, our renovated two-floor guest house is a great base to explore Uzès and surrounding area. The guest house is ideal for families with children. There is a double room, twin room with inter-connecting bathroom on the upper floor and kitchen/dining space downstairs. Access to/from the twin room is via the double room and bathroom. It has all the modern comforts; wifi, washing machine, dishwasher, stove, microwave and more.

The neighbourhood is quiet but attractions like the Pont d'Avignon, restaurants, and bars are all less than 10 minutes on foot. A parking space is within a 3-minute walk. You will not use the car in town but is will be great to explore Provence by day and return to your tranquil haven each evening.
