Griffin - The Lake Superior Riverboat

The Griffin is a functioning riverboat, driven by paddle wheels, originally modeled after historic Mississippi steamboats. It is located at a mom and pop boat yard, which is quite different from a fancy marina. Work happens here. Metal is welded here. Engines are torn apart and put back together here. Welcome to our Cedar Creek Retreat, complete with woodfire sauna! A secluded 3-bedroom house nestled on acres of beautiful cedar, maple, & pine forest tucked beside a quiet lake community. Multiple public access to local lakes. Large bonfire pit (firewood provided). Ample onsite parking. Snowmobilers Welcome! Plenty of space for trailers. 2 miles off state trail system. Dogs are welcome with a $100 pet fee.

Enjoy your stay at this centrally-located apartment close to many shops, restaurants, trails and more! Only a 20-minute drive from Duluth, MN and beautiful Lake Superior. Parking for up to one vehicle is included during winter months (off-street), and more than one vehicle in summer months (on-street parking).

Our yurt sits on the edge of a wild woods overlooking a clearing that is an active forest restoration project currently in process on the banks of the Cloquet River.
