Spruce is a hand built, 2 story log cabin over 65 years old on our 320 acre Alaskan homestead. It has 8 bedrooms (7 queens, 1 twin) and 3 bathrooms, with a full kitchen and multiple living areas for large groups. This is a working homestead with chickens, turkeys, free roaming dogs, farm equipment, and daily land work. If you are expecting a resort or are uncomfortable around animals, this may not be the right fit. Rates vary by booking platform fees. Enjoy a true, remote Alaskan homestead stay.

Cozy off grid, dry Cabin. Please read description.

Keep it simple at this peaceful and centrally-located studio cabin. Half-way between Anchorage and Valdez. Near Wrangell St Elias park and world class fishing. A dry cabin with drinking water provided and an outhouse on the site. Please note there is NO electricity. Door locks from the inside. There is a fine for smoking/vaping in cabin. Mosquitoes are out of my control. There is a 3 gallon jug of drinking water. Occasionally, after 9pm till 7am, there may be other lodgers sharing outhouse.

Gulkana River Ranch Bed and Breakfast

Our place is right on The Gulkana River. You’ll love our sauna, skiing, and 77-acre homestead. We are off the grid (no electricity), but have a sink, wood stove (we start for you), clean outhouse (no indoor toilet) and plenty of water that we haul for you. Outdoor shower is very rustic. Gulkana River Ranch is a haven for those wishing to be close to nature and experience bush Alaska as it used to be. Keep the family together with both the Mt. Wrangle Apartment upstairs and either Wolf Room and or Fox Room downstairs in our house You may reserve the apartment and up to two more queen rooms for a total of 9 people. Wolf and Fox Rooms share a bath. The number of rooms and beds are determined by the number of guests. 6 guests or less get one additional room, or 3 queen beds and a futon. 7 or more guests get two additional rooms, 4 queen beds and a Futon.
