Háafell Lodge

Welcome to Háafell Farm where we raise sheep, keep horses and have one friendly dog. Our private guest house is located 200 meters above the farm, up the mountain at 130 meters above sea level. It is a recently built (2020), 100 square meter, modern “turf house style” house. Háafell means “The High Mountain” and has a long river that cascades down its side with several tiers of waterfalls. It is a five minute walk to our canyon and it is possible to take a cold bath in one of the waterfalls.

Spacious yet cozy 93 square meters cottage located at the edge of the Snæfellsnesjökull national park. The cottage is beautifully decorated and well equipped. Me and my wife fell in love with the un-earthly beauty of the Snæfellsnes peninsula and especially the area around the glacier and simply had to own our own getaway at this magical place which was voted the #1 place to visit in the wintertime (travelandleisure), and amongst Europe's 25 most interesting villages (Business Insider)

The house is located on the edge of Arnarstapi village, closely surrounded by the ocean, vast lava fields, mountains and the majestic Snæfellsjökull. Every season there has it´s own charm but the beauty and peacefulness is always present, pulling you out for various activities.
