Welcome to my holiday home in the heart of Saariselkä – only a few minutes' walk away of Urho Kekkonen National Park trailheads. I renovated and furnished my home completely in 2023 with all modern amenities while preserving the traditional stone-built fireplace and Finnish sauna. With three beds upstairs and a large sofa bed downstairs, the accommodation is comfortable for various types of groups. The remote working space, fully equipped kitchen and laundry also make it ideal for a longer stay.

Aurora Grande is a rustic and authentic two-storey country house in the heart of Lapland. Our super power is peace and quiet next to National Park. An excellent area to see northern lights. A Private Santa Claus visit is possible. 4 bedrooms, kitchen, big living room/dining area and wood-heated sauna which is a wonderful place to relax after a long day. Watch the northern lights glow outside the living room's floor-to-ceiling window, in one of Lapland's darkest, quietest corners. This wilderness villa sits next to Urho Kekkonen National Park, with its own sauna and, a short walk away, Suomen Latu Kiilopää's fell centre (rental, restaurant, ski tracks). Husky and reindeer safaris, restaurants and slopes are 15 min away in Saariselkä; Ivalo Airport is 35 min. Aurora sightings aren't guaranteed, but few places give a better shot from indoors.

Arctic Light Hut

It is easy to relax in this unique and peaceful holiday destination. Wooden-framed, partially glass-roofed northern lights hut, built in 2019. Perfect for observing the northern lights and the starry sky indoors in winter. Glass roof on the north side. In summer, the hut is illuminated by the summer night sun. The hut has two beds under a glass roof, a kitchen area, a washroom/toilet and a wind closet. The glass roof has heating, which keeps it bright despite the weather.
