The views are spectacular as you can enjoy 360 degree views of the valley, Flathead Lake, Glacier Park, The Swan Mountains, Blacktail Mountain and the big skies and stars of Montana. The only land in between our farm and the lake is a waterfowl preserve. Plenty of wildlife on the property and it is a wonderful spot to enjoy Flathead Valley.

Stoney Lonesome Retreat

Welcome to Stoney Lonesome Retreat. Why Stoney Lonesome? Not entirely sure, you can blame it on my great grandfather, old Fredrick Richard August Christian Uhde. He named the property back in 1972 and the name has stuck!!! My parents Elward and Susan purchased our property in the summer of 1969 for $500 and we have been here ever since. My brother and I were raised here and now my wife Gretchen and I are so proud to be raising our son Simon here. The third generation on this land.

Cross country skiing from cabin, many quiet lakes in the area, Murray Lake perfect for paddleboards. With downtown Whitefish so busy, you will enjoy the tranquility. Winter season is gorgeous! 4wd needed anywhere in Whitefish.

We came to Montana as kids--My uncle built the log home we lived in with his own hands and tools. I instantly fell in love with the smell of pine, texture of wood, and old world style of living. I told myself that one day I'd build a log home too. Twenty years later, we made it happen.
