Swamp Camp offers a unique peaceful retreat to nature enthusiasts in the heart of Louisiana swamp country. We are at the dead end of a quiet one mile road called “Happywoods.” Our camp, up on piers, is situated in the wetlands along the Tickfaw River and adjoining Tickfaw State Park. We look out onto a wilderness sanctuary with turtles, alligator, beaver, and otter along with a variety of water birds among the characters. The camp is built centered on a 300 plus year old cypress tree.

Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway. This cabin was built in the 1950's for housing dairy workers. It sits on 11 acres. This area is an old dairy farm. The Blue Heron Guest House is a great place to just get away, enjoy nature, canoe (provided), fish the pond or the bayou, birdwatching (lots of birds), etc. The property does have a boat slip and a small boat launch for those who want to explore the area by boat. Bayou Manchac connects to the Amite River nearby. We can’t wait to share our paradise with you!

This home is a quaint, waterfront oasis, with space to enjoy friends and family inside or outside. It is just minutes by foot, car and/or boat to restaurants, bars and many water events. With prior notification to host you may have full access to onsite boat slip. Depending on size of boats slip can host up to 2 boats at one time. Come and see why this is OUR happy place, and it could quickly become your happy place.

Close to fine dining or fast food. The Rustic cottage is in the back of our property. It has a privacy fence, but is not completely fenced. Nice covered deck with large TV and carport
