Solar-powered MatopHouse is a very carefully considered sanctuary. It's enveloped by a garden frequented by birds, hares, a mongoose and duikers, and has views of the distant Karkloof hills. The house is full of character (and books), and is a tranquil space in which to read, write, cook, create – and to simply "be". Set on a quiet eco-estate on the fringe of Howick, it is conveniently close to the Ambers, the Karkloof trails, the Midlands Meander, Midmar Dam, and numerous cafes and attractions.

Step into the charm of a pristine, beautifully maintained heritage farmhouse in the heart of the KZN Midlands. With its original Oregon pine floors, spacious garden and timeless, refined character, it offers a warm and welcoming space for friends and family to gather. Beautiful Breeze Cottage sits among the stunning hills of the Dargle Valley. It overlooks 3 tranquil dams, rolling pastures and an indigenous forest. There are cattle and horses in the fields, abundant bird life to enjoy and peacefulness to breath in. It's the perfect place to recharge while escaping the pressures of city life and with the Midlands Meander on our doorstep you can be as busy or as quiet as you choose. The farm is now fully off Eskom power so load shedding is a distant memory.

Forest Falls Treehouse

Enjoy the serenity of nature on the edge of the Umgeni Valley. Conveniently placed less than 10 minutes away from Hilton Village. This is no normal cottage. Our Forest Falls Treehouse is built at the confluence of two streams. Perched amongst trees, birds are constant visitors while shy nyala often make an appearance. This self-catering cottage can be reached after a short walk in an indigenous forest down steep stairs built into a cliff face. Meals can be purchased through prior arrangements.

Our farm offers a few hikes through the indigenous forest where you get to sip from pristine streams, enjoy the beauty of waterfalls, and be enamoured by the gentle light filtering through the trees. It is a nature lovers delight & birder's Paradise! 20 min from Howick.

This beautiful home is situated on a ridge with breathtaking 360* views of the Drakensberg Mountains and rolling hills of the midlands; a short distance from the N3, but set back from the road so it is peaceful and quiet. We are just 2km from some of the best MTB and running trails in the country, and perfectly located for the abundance of great restaurants, coffee shops and activities in the area for both adults and children. An ideal spot to retreat with family and friends, or get active.

Yellowwoods Farm - WILLOUGHBYS COTTAGE

We like to think that we have the best of both worlds here at Yellowwoods! The benefits of farm life, yet easy access to cafes, restaurants, bicycles trails, farmers markets, golf courses and schools. Only 2kms off the N3, we are easily accessible and very easy to find. We are a little farm so expect a bit of ‘farm noise’ about and general day-to-day goings on. Willoughbys has both inside and outside table/chairs & braai facilities - Weber as well as outside braai+'firepit'. WiFi and DSTV.

Woodsong Cottage - Self Catering

The cottage is situated in The Dargle Valley bordering a forestry estate and overlooks the uMngeni River. It is nestled in the trees next to the main house on Woodsong Farm, which is a small life-style farm where you are free to explore the surroundings. Enjoy walks to the small dam with a picnic basket and bird-watch, take photos, enjoy some casual fishing and wild-swimming. The cottage is not suitable from small children. The cottage is not pet friendly.

The Snuggery Cottage - your snug Howick stay

Welcome to The Snuggery Cottage in the picturesque town of Howick, gateway to the KZN Midlands. Nestled in a 1940s property with solid brick walls and oodles of character, the Cottage is ideal for one or two people. Whether over-nighting, or staying longer, guests are welcome to unplug, visit our chickens and ducks, light the fireplace, play card games, read a book or head out and enjoy the sights and beauty on offer in the KZN Midlands.
