The Mine Managers Suite at Avalon House has some of the original timber wall panelling dating back to 1889 giving it old word charm whilst upgraded modern amenities make it a warm and comfortable private apartment for two. The Hut is located a short drive from Swifts Creek on the Great Alpine Road, alongside the beautiful Tambo River. It is an authentic property restored in 2020 on Woodlands farm. The cattle farm itself spans 1,800 acres across the Tambo Valley. Our unique and remote location means that it's the perfect place to unwind, relax and recharge. We are located an hour from Dinner Plain & Mount Hotham as well as a stone’s throw from the Tambo River, Mitta Mitta and Cobungra Rivers.

Bathe outside in the outdoor bath, or use the purpose built steps that will take you down to the river's edge. Wander around the farm and over to another swimming spot, where you’ll find kayaks and a canoe for you to use. A large window at the end of the bed allows you to stargaze at night or watch the water flow by as you rest and charge your batteries.
