Stables by the Vines

In 1856, an English stonemason, Thompson Priest, began mining slate in Mintaro. At the same time, he built a home with stables at the rear of his property. Over the intervening years, the stables fell into a desperate state, however, recently, the Stable has returned to life through a sensitive restoration and refurbishment. Set on the edge of Reillys Winery, the Stable is a 100m walk through the vines to the cellar door and further 20 metres to the renowned Magpie Stump Hotel.

Nestled in the stunning Clare Valley wine region is a cosy stone cottage. This original weatherboard beach shack will remind you of your childhood holidays, and has everything you will need for a relaxing holiday. We want our place to be somewhere you can relax and switch off - to help with this there is no tv at the shack. Have a great stay!
