The Writer's Cottage is a tiny white house on a country road; vintage, complete, and inspiring. Built in the nineteenth century, it's perfect for a solo traveler or a pair of travelers exploring the Berkshires and the Hudson Valley. If you like rustic buildings, you'll be a fan of the cottage; it's an incredibly cozy time warp. Queen bed and living quarters downstairs; airy loft up a narrow set of enclosed stairs. There's an orchard and lawn with grill, hammock and ironwork table.

Escape to our cozy Glass Lake cottage in Averill Park—your all-season retreat. Spend the day on the water or relax in the outdoor space with stunning lake views. Just 25 minutes from the Albany Amtrak station and 50 minutes from Saratoga, explore nearby Berkshires leaf-peeping, Jiminy Peak skiing, drive-in movies, and charming towns like Chatham and Hudson. Our family has long loved this lake, and we’re excited to share it with you—whether for a weekend getaway or a longer stay.

Lake House in Averill Park, NY (age 30+ excl kids)

Our lake house is on Glass Lake in Averill Park, NY. In case you want to venture off, it is close to Saratoga (race season!), the Berkshires MA, Albany NY, and Vermont. Incredibly private with spacious property. Our lake house is great for families with kids and couples, and handicap accessible. It is great for any season (leaves, skiing, fishing, swimming). Kayaks, row boat.....and the lake!! Age requirement of at least 30 years old for guests (except kids).

Comfy Cottage retreat is located on 2nd Burden Lake. Offering a charming two bedroom home set back from the road & nestled on a treed lot. Come rain or shine. The cottage has an enclosed porch and inviting patio with view of the 2nd Burden lake. (Note: cottage has lakeview only)Located just around the corner from Kay's pizza and water activities! Conveniently located to wedding events & dining at Old Daley Inn on Crooked Lake, June Farm, Troy, & more.
