The cottage is located near Reykjavi­k, about 30-40 minute drive from Reykjavik. It is ideally situated amongst Iceland's most popular attractions. Many of the attractions are within 1 one-hour drive from the cottage, e.g. the Þingvellir National Park, which is on the way to Gullfoss and Geysir. Hot tub available upon request for €15 per day.

Gunnu Hús by Meðalfellsvatn ( Our lakeside cottage nestles at the foot of Medalfell mountain and the garden leads right down to the lake. The views are spectacular, of the lake and its surrounding mountain scape; it is a place of pure tranquility. It has 3 bedrooms and an open plan kitchen and sitting room. It has a large double bedroom, and small double bedroom and a room with a bunk bed. It is well known and often listed as one of the most scenic and lovely summer cottages in Iceland.

View the sunset over the lake or see the Aurora Borealis, when the conditions are right, from the deck wrapping around the house or even from the hot tub. On the terrace is a barrel sauna with a beautiful view over the lake. The surrounding area is full of nature and a good starting point for little hikes. Good location for day trips to Snæfellsnes and the Golden Circle. During the winter time is a good chance of seeing the Northern lights (Aurora Borealis).

Grafarholt and Úlfarsárdalur is a district in Reykjavík that covers Úlfarsárdalur and Grafarholt. The district is bordered by Vesturlandsvegur, Úlfarsá to the municipal border of Mosfellsbær, to the north and east by the municipal border to and around Úlfarsfell to Vesturlandsvegur. There is one lake in Grafarholt and it is called Reynisvatn. Úlfarsá flows through the border of Úlfarsárdalur and Grafarholt and then turns into Korpúlfsstaðaá at Vesturlandsvegur.
