Our home was a former inn; then called the Jakobstettel! And, many, many years before that, it was the home of William Snider whose father, E.W.B. Snider owned the St Jacob's flour mill from 1870 to 1917.
We love this old home and enjoy sharing it's history, as well as the village of St Jacobs, with our friends and visitors.
The home has 10 bedrooms, each with their own bathroom. We live in 2 of the rooms but love to open the others to guests who can enjoy the feeling of a luxury inn! Guests can book the rooms separately, or book our whole home for larger groups. When booking the whole home for 2 nights or more, we charge a flat rate of $125 per room. We call the room pictured on this listing our "Bowman suite" but you can contact us to inquire about booking our other rooms separately. Each room is unique and named after a key figure in our village history! Seven rooms have luxury bathrooms with unique showers or jacuzzi bathtubs. Two rooms have private verandas.
We both work, and do not have children, so we do not provide breakfast service to people who stay with us, but you are welcome to use the common kitchen or enjoy one of our local cafes, each just a stone's throw away!
In the summer, you can enjoy our swimming pool and tennis courts. In the winter, you can cozy up to one of the fireplaces or shoot a game of pool!
lounge with pool table and board games

We live here but the house is huge so you can join us on the main floor or find a space to tuck away and enjoy your own privacy, either in another room on the main floor or in your own spacious guest room with private bathroom.
I am an avid traveller. I lived 12 years abroad - in Japan and Singapore and havent spent a full year at home since! I studied religion and culture in my university days and currently teach it at a local high school. I love the outdoors and love yoga, have a scuba diving license and, this year, tried my hand at stock car racing.
I am interested in alternative and complementary health modailities, and spend much of my free time studying them. I have a certificate in cranial sacral therapy, earned in Singapore, a certificate in shiatsu massage, earned in Japan, and am working towards my specialist as a biofeedback technician, studying out of California.
My favourite quote: “The important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existing. One cannot help but be in awe when one contemplates the mysteries of eternity, of life, of the marvelous structure of reality. It is enough if one tries merely to comprehend a little of this mystery every day. Never lose a holy curiosity.” —Albert Einstein
