Forest cottage at one of the Willamette Valley's oldest homesteads, with deck built in the trees. Simple but beautiful accommodations in lush garden and orchard, just 15 minutes from Eugene or the airport. Some of Oregon's best wineries are only minutes away. Cottage is on one of the area's most popular road biking routes. A private entrance will lead you to our secluded cottage surrounded by bountiful native vegetation. Charming getaway while still being close to everything Eugene has to offer.
Accommodations are basic - there is heat, a cold water sink, a small refrigerator, and an outdoor shower. The bathroom is a composting outhouse, separate from the main cabin. The outdoor shower will not be available from November through the end of February.
Stairs are required to access the cottage. The mattress size is full. A coffee maker is available.
Guests have access to the private garden area where the cottage is built, and the adjacent deck built in the trees. We ask that guests do not leave the garden and enter the main part of the property unless hosts are present (and you love dogs!). We have dogs on the property but you will be separated from them in the fenced garden.

Please note that this is a property that has abundant plant and animal life. You may encounter harmless garter snakes, bats, deer, raccoons, and other benign and wonderful forest creatures.
Stay on the paths! There is poison oak on the property but it has been removed from the areas around the paths.
Bees: The cottage is situated in a wonderful garden and 100+ year old orchard, and in the spring and early summer you will be immersed in flowering plants. There will be a lot of bees during this time. We have never had anyone stung by a bee here, but if you are allergic you may want to reconsider your stay here.
Wasps: Later in the summer there can be a lot of wasps on the property. We do our best to control them but you still may encounter them. Again, if you know you are allergic you may want to reconsider your stay.
Our Nature Cottage is an invitation for a more adventurous stay. Perfect for travelers that enjoy a nature setting and a secluded space of their own. On a clear night during the winter months, you can bundle up and sit on the tree deck amidst big, majestic firs and listen to the gushing of the creek while gazing at the stars high up above. The clear, starry nights are beautiful, the silence is rejuvenating. The rain-laden forest watched from the big window inside of our cozy cabin creates a dreamy and soothing atmosphere and lets you enjoy the colder days of the season a little more.
