On the edge of the derbyshire Peak District, Marple is a lovely little town boasting one of the wonders of the canals, this magnificent stone aqueduct. Also check out the old style cinema and beautiful Roman Lakes. Wonderful walking country and good cycling along the towpaths. Easy access to Manchester. NB, This listing is for a static boat. Crewed trips can be arranged separately
"Hazel" is a wooden narrow boat over 100 years old. Built to carry salt, her main job is now to provide trips and holidays for people who need their spirits lifting.
You can access the whole boat. As well as the rooms listed there is also the traditional back cabin which can sleep 2 (small) people. Access from here to the bathroom is difficult but it does increase the maximum to 10. Kids love it!

There may be a Wooden Canal Boat Society volunteer staying in the separate back cabin or a nearby boat. You can make friends with them or keep yourselves to yourselves, up to you.

Listing on behalf of Wooden Canal Boat Society. I am a furry boat gnome who has been beavering away at trying to save some of the old wooden working boats of the canals for the last 40 years. "Hazel"s main job is to provide holidays for people who are dealing with stress, depression and other mental health difficulties. By staying aboard her you will help to fund this work, and you might even improve your own mental health.
