This 1 bedroom, 2nd floor walk -up apartment faces the now "famous" square in Greencastle Indiana, home of DePauw University and site of the terrific new first-Friday celebrations on the square. With a terrific view of downtown, with eastern and southern light, this apartment sits on the second of an 19th Century mercantile building.
Check out the two-night discount, and the weekly rate. A great spot to hold small gatherings, and celebrations with your kids while at college events.
The furnishings are eccentric and constantly changing, the decor is a pastiche of the odd. Nice galley style kitchen, fully equipped. Quiet bedroom, with new queen bed and stacked washer-dryer in the closet. There is parking on the street on weekends, as well as a nearby (1/2 block) municipal lot available continuously, at all times. You're in easy walking distance of Greencastle's great new restaurants, Game store, bookstore, exciting new local retail stores, the Farmer's market (Saturdays May-Sept), the Starbucks and, of course, DePauw University.
There is now a daybed in the living room. An inflatable bed is also available.

I live slightly to the north, but I am happy to come into town to meet you, show you around and make suggestions. My 21 year old daughter works in town and can act as a go-between. The building's owner is in the office downstairs. Plenty of help available.
I'm a faculty member at DePauw University and a writer for Esquire Magazine. I've been in Greencastle for over 25 years. I'm a baseball fan, and a collector. I like music and movies, hiking and traveling. I've enjoyed airbnb in Europe and elsewhere and wanted to make a safe, fun space in my hometown (which is vastly underrated). My children are, or were recently, in college and I always wished that I'd had a better place to stay than a distant local motel; airbnb seemed like a chance to provide that for someone else.
