We appreciate your feedback, Mel. I’m actually a bit surprised to hear these concerns since your mother was very thankful and did not mention anything when she checked out. I am very sorry that your mom wasn’t able to sleep in. We want our guests to enjoy their stay thoroughly! That being said, it is pertinent that each guest booking the room as well as others coming along read our description, house rules, and acknowledgements. It is stated in multiple locations that there is the potential for baby noise day or night, as we have an infant. I try very hard to keep the children quiet in the morning but sometimes it is beyond my control, so if guests do not have some degree of tolerance for small children, our home may not be their best Airbnb option.
I’m also sorry to hear you were not pleased with one of our amenities—the Keurig machine. We simply provide that for guest convenience. Again, it helps if all guests and visitors read and acknowledge house information. Within our description, it is stated that the Keurig machine is there for your use— you are welcome to bring your own coffee or use ours. A donation is appreciated if you use the provided coffee, creamer, and sugar, but certainly not required. Personally, I love that each Airbnb does things differently. Our goal is to provide all the options and you can take or leave them! It is left completely up to you. Most guests have appreciated the this perk. We also offer complementary water bottles and chocolates in the room, which have been very popular.
I am truly sorry that some of your expectations were not met during your stay—it is our intention to do whatever we can to make every guest feel welcome, comfortable, and happy. We’ll even help you back your car out of the driveway if you request it, as we did when your mother asked us the morning of her departure.
All of the feedback we get is an opportunity to learn and become better hosts, so thank you.
