We are situated in the beautiful village of Lanquais, famous for it's xv century château overlooking the picturesque natural lake. The very popular restaurant "Auberge des Marroniers" opens at lunch times and in the evenings, however it does get extremely busy during the summer months of July and August, so I would suggest booking to avoid disappointment. All of these amenities and just a short walk away.
The GR6 one of France's many long distance footpaths passes through Lanquais, it joins up with local paths which are well sign-posted.
The Dordogne River flows just 3 km from us, flowing through local tourist spots Lalinde, Mauzac, Tremolat and Bergerac. A day canoeing down the river is very popular, although a 45 minute drive is recommend to reach a good starting point.
Bergerac Airport is 18km west of Lanquais. Lalinde train station is just 6.5km east. Lalinde is our nearest town where you will find banks ATM, supermarket, petrol station, DIY shop cafés and restaurants. Every Thursday an open market fills the square, providing the atmosphere a of a typical local village, not to be missed during the summer months.
Bergerac town centre is just a 20 minute drive away. The region rich in vineyards and fortified ‘bastide’ towns, offers a warm welcome, an extraordinary range of natural and historical heritage sites; fabulous, protected countryside; the beauty of the Dordogne River; the renowned gastronomy and wines of the Périgord; an active cultural life and numerous leisure and sporting activities.

Four years ago I took on the role of Membership Secretary for Association Phoenix, an animal charity that rescues, cares and re-homes abandoned animals here in the south west of France.
I love the outdoor life and I'm always up for a new fundraising challenge,
