The views in this secret valley are amazing and it's so quiet and peaceful but only a 20 minute drive into the Potteries or into historic market town of Leek. Pugin's Gem in Cheadle is 12 minutes, Alton towers 25, Trentham Estate and Monkey Park 30. Totally self-contained and sleeps 4 comfortably. Rates can be negotiated for small children under 12. Wetley rocks garage 5 minutes away for fuel and newspapers, groceries etc Cheadle has nearest supermarket. 12 minutes away.
Guests will have self-contained accommodation - 4 rooms, bedroom, bathroom/ WC, kitchen and lounge to themselves. A sofa bed is in the lounge. All bedding, towels and linen are provided as is electricity. There is no gas or solid fuel. Guests have their own entrance and keys. Bathroom is off the kitchen and comprises a shower over a bath, sink and WC. Guests may wander round the wildlife garden and ponds, (three and a half acres) Outdoor tables and Breezehouse available for picnics. A few essential groceries are available for a light breakfast for the first day, or guests can pay extra for a breakfast that is taken in the big house. Tea and coffee (decaff as well as herbal) are provided and cooking can be done with induction hob, or combination microwave or electric all-in-one cooker. Kitchen is small but fully kitted out. Dietary requirements can be accommodated.

Gardeners/classic car/military vehicle/wildlife enthusiasts will love this house and gardens - lots to see and explore. Ask to see if interested.
Some paths are steep and slippery - please take care as you us them at your own risk. There are several flights of steps around the garden. It is very dark at night as we have no street lights - you might be advised to bring a torch although we usually leave one for guests to use.
We want guests to be comfortable and feel at home but to respect the property and leave it clean and tidy. Please take off shoes when entering the flat. No smoking is allowed inside the building. Guests may have full use of garden and picnic tables, summer houses etc. Small children MUST be supervised at all times as there are 3 areas of quite deep water.
As we are on a septic tank only loo paper may be flushed down the loo. Please use bags and bins provided for sanitary waste. There is a recycling bin for cardboard, plastics. tins and bottles. Please use them as the council expects us to recycle everything if possible.
Please use the extractor fans provided in both kitchen and bathroom to avoid condensation.
Pets are not allowed as we have a dog, ducks and pheasants, which are all quite tame.
I am an ex teacher, ex company director, now retired. I live with husband, Andrew, 2 older boys and dogs, pheasants and ducks - all friendly. Sociable, outgoing, fundraiser for NSPCC, I sing in 2 choirs, and am a very busy gardener with a 3 and a half acre garden. Husband very keen on military vehicles particularly the Austin Champ - a post -war jeep type vehicle and classic cars. We love to travel and meet people from all walks of life. We have used Airbnb ourselves and know the value of a warm welcome and a helping hand.
