Terraced on either side to similar properties the house forms part of an ancient rural hamlet which, being a rare gem, is group listed. The neighbouring village of Thorncombe offers local amenities that include a church, and an award winning community shop/post office that has keys available for use of the small village swimming pool in the summer months.

The cottage is in deep countryside so expect to be visited by chickens, ducks and geese. Spiders that take up residence in the nooks and crannies of the cob walls are also welcomed guests. Newly born lambs and calves are sometimes temporarily housed in the next door barn.
In case of allergies please note that all the duvets and pillows are high quality goose down and feather.
There's a bath but no shower.
The doorways and some of the beams are low so mind your heads.
Like most of the properties in the village the cottage is thatched, so visitors need to be extra vigilant about the risk of fire. The rule is strictly no candles, bare flames, bar-b-ques or open fires in or near the house.
Please respect our neighbours and abide by the Countryside Code. Its very important that dogs are kept under control as livestock wander through the Hamlet. There are sheep in the surrounding fields and its likely you'll see deer, fox, phesant and rabbit.
