Ceri, To be honest we try to just throw love and positivity out into the world, but honestly, we feel a little disappointed by your critical review, but, accept that some people just see the world that way. We honestly wish you nothing but the best but your review, which sounds more like your husband than you, we feel is rather unfair and at the very least, overly critical. From the start your husband was very critical about arriving without being greeted, but to be fair that was your doing as you were late. My husband tried repeatedly phoning you, yet the number was not correct on your account so left a note saying he'd be back in 10 mins. Sadly, that was when you arrived, and its not like were a hotel with full time staff. Secondly, the entrance to your accommodation was around the side of the house and does not pass any bins at all (perhaps you meant the oil tank or the feed buckets?). The garden, actually was seen probably in the worst condition it has been for a while as the gardener was away for 2 weeks and we've had a huge heatwave in the UK. As you said, as a result, we also shared our own garden and all facilities with you and your grandchildren so again were surprised to see this raised as a negative. To help you further, we offered you the courtesy of using a short-cut through my wife's workshop, something we are hugely surprised to get criticised about as this was us trying to make things even easier for you and not part of the normal let, something that was well communicated at the time. As for the bed, as shown in our pictures, it IS a tight squeeze to get into, but the overwhelming feedback we've had is that people prefer the squeeze and having a bigger bed. I guess it the old adage, "you can't please all the people all of the time". I'm delighted you had such an enjoyable stay, just sad you see the world so critically. Perhaps a 5 star hotel would be more suited to your needs when you next visit from South Africa. ;-) Sincerely though, both Nick and I wish you the very best and every happiness for the future.
