Imagine a sky full of stars and the brilliance of the milky way. Imagine your mornings lingering over a cup of coffee while you watch the family of geese wander by and the sheep making their way across the field. And picture bringing your bicycles to allow you to go on a tour of the many wineries and lunch spots in the Rutherglen area. This is what you get at the Winemaker's Cottage. Lucy and her family have a fantastic property that is only a stone's throw from town. This air bnb is compact and cozy but is a part of a larger property that is slowly being redeveloped. It's great now and will get better as time goes on. While we are singing praises of this property -- do pay attention to the amenities -- the cooking facilities are adequate (microwave, coffee maker, tea kettle, small fridge, and bbq) -- but limited in terms of making meals that require a burner or oven.

A clean, beautiful cottage, well provisioned was only eclipsed by the fantastic service and friendliness of our hosts. The impromptu tour throughout the old winery buildings and the property was highlight. As was the extra attention we received when we visited the Thousand Pound wine bar and All Saints winery. It is a close ride or drive to the town centre, and to many of the wineries. We had an amazing weekend and will definitely visit again.

Absolutely loved Lucy's property. The cottage is cosy and warm and has everything you need. Its situated in a secluded country property surrounded by beautiful views and the highlight being the old Winery which is very impressive! Lucy was a great host and was accomodating to all our needs, will definitely be back!

Great little place

We had a lovely time. The place had lots of amenities. We, including our dog, loved the back and front yard. John was super nice and answered all of our questions promptly. It was also a lovely walk to Main Street and close to number of wonderful wineries.

Cuddle Doon is a beautifully appointed house in a nice quiet position and easy walking distance to town centre. John & Beryl are attentive hosts with good suggestions of attractions and dining options in the area.

Cuddledoon is a wonderful little cottage, in a sweet little town with wineries and delicious produce a short drive away. The cottage is adorable with a great yard for dogs. Beryl was an amazing host with lots of local knowledge of the area. Looking forward to visiting again soon!

Cuddledoon is ideally situated for a stopover in Rutherglen to explore the wineries. John responded promptly to my emails and was ready for us when we arrived. We appreciated his flexibility with check in and out times. It was lovely walking into a cool house as when we arrived the weather was quite warm. The beds were comfy, lots of space to hang up clothes and the fridge was well stocked. The BBQ is easy to use and it was great sitting outside enjoying the friuts of our labour i.e a glass of red and some brilliant steaks from the local butcher. John's recommendation for dinner was perfect, in fact, we walked. Visiting the local wineries is one of our favourite weekends away and it was lovely to be able to share this with visiting friends from overseas. The house is perfect for 2 couples.

We had a wonderful stay (3 nights) at Carlyle B & B. The proximity to all Rutherglen's attractions, staying in heritage accommodation and the exceptional customer service provided by Sharyn & Anthony made it an even more enjoyable experience. If you like food you have to stay here! Free drink available on check in, breakfast was ample and made with fresh quality ingredients. Hosts were pleasant and knowledgeable about the local area. Had dinner at the local pub and was blown away at how tender the meat was and the quality of the produce. Will be back for longer next time!

Carlyle house is a stunning heritage property. Anthony & Sharyn are new owners and have brought their own B & B style to the place. They are super friendly and extremely accommodating. They made us feel at home and were happy for our 1 yr old to stay (we provided our portacot & high chair). The room was very clean& Sharyn cooked us a delicious hot breakfast. The house one block to the Rutherglen main strip. This is our third stay and now we now how wonderful Anthony & Sharyn are we will return again.

From the moment we arrived, Anthony and Sharon were very welcoming and friendly. It was our 20th wedding anniversary, and they welcomed us with a bottle of champagne and even had some candles lit to make the mood nice and romantic. A very nice touch. The room and facilities were excellent, and in keeping with the period of the house, with some nice mod cons where required. Breakfast was delicious, with plenty of choice, including real expresso coffee (a nice blend as well). Location was within close walking distance to the main street of Rutherglen, with easy parking and low noise levels, with plenty of dining choices. During our stay Anthony and Sharon were very accommodating, going above and beyond, even offering to drop off and pick us up from our special lunch at one of the wineries. That is what I call service. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and look forward to our next trip to Rutherglen and stay at Carlyle House.

A seriously amazing stay in Rutherglen! me and my family were up there for my brothers wedding at a winery and Cheryls place was just perfect. She was fantastic from the word go with a few questions around the house before i booked, and we were definitely not disappointed during our stay. Comfy beds, well furnished house and a fantastic backyard for having bacon and eggs on bbq and sitting out in the sun under the pergola. Every little detail in the house was perfect - from nice towels, to little jams and everything you needed was there. It was literally a 30 second drive from the ,main street (we were too lazy to walk), and only 10-15 minutes away from the wineries. I highly recommend staying at Cheryls and if we were to come back to Rutherglen we wouldn't consider anywhere else. thanks so much Cheryl!

A lovely couple of days in Rutherglen with family. Mulberry House is a great place to stay and Cheryl certainly did everything to make us feel welcome and to ensure that our stay was hassle free. We had a lovely stay at the Central Rutherglen Cottage over Easter. It is really centrally located, with a great playground and park across the road and one a minute's walk to the main street. The house is rustic but comfortable. The lounge room is well set up to encourage a long evening spent chatting over wine and cheese. The beds were cosy and warm on the cool nights. We hired bikes from the Rutherglen information centre and spent one day cycling along the Mountains to Murray rail trail, stopping in at many wineries along the way. Everything was so well set up for families, with games and children's activities at each winery to keep the kids entertained while the adults tasted. The Rutherglen region was a fantastic place to spend Easter and the cottage was a great base.

Charming little cottage in a perfect location opposite park and pool and a short walk to Main Street restaurants, cafes, pubs, supermarket etc. A great base to explore this gorgeous part of Victoria and visit wineries and nearby towns. The house was perfect for us, well equipped with everything we needed and a short walk into town with a lovely lake and park right across the road. We wanted a quiet getaway at a few wineries, and Brian was the expert on all local wineries. (I know nothing about wine - and really wanted to impress my fiance! Thanks Brian!) Next time we make our way to sunny Australia we would love a chance to stay again.

Perfect place to stay. Suzy made everything about the process very easy. The accommodation was excellent. Being located near the river with easy access was a bonus. We had a fantastic stay in Corowa made especially memorable by Suzanne's house. Although we did not meet Suzanne communication, directions and access were clear and easy to follow. The location was a dream and having drinks and barbecue on the banks of the Murray at the bottom of the garden is unforgettable. The house was clean and spacious and provided every amenity for a comftable stay

Suzanne & Lac have a great house with private access to the Murray River. Everything rang smoothly and Suzanne was easy to contact and made sure our stay was relaxing.

The heating was excellent especially the underfloor heating in the main part of the house. Beds comfortable and adequate bedding and linen. Kitchen well equipped. All in all a very comfortable property and what we expected from the booking.

Our stay in Corowa was wonderful. Suzy's house was a great place for my adult children and I to meet to spend a very relaxing few days. The home is well equiped and beautifully clean. House rules are clear and easy to follow. Access to the river is beautiful with a lovely deck and BBQ area. We very much enjoyed our stay.

Loved, loved, loved staying here. Such a serene and pretty spot with the lake in front and the vineyards behind. A great place for some rest and relaxation, but also plenty to explore in this food and wine region. Belinda and Michael are wonderful and very helpful as are the other staff on the estate. The estate serves the most delicious durif chocolate cake for dessert.

For a relaxing holiday in a beautiful location this is the best. The view over the lake and wetlands as you have a morning cuppa, or an evening beveridge as the sun sets is magical. There are plenty of nice things to do nearby should you want. For us it was golf, bushwalking and swimming.

Lucy was super welcoming and the whole process was a pleasure. The place is great and perfectly positioned to check out All Saints and St Leonards. The cottage was just lovely. A great spot, across the road from all saints winery, but it's a few hundred meters back from the main road so that it's quiet and kids can safely explore. It's an old picturesque building that has been recently updated inside. The fire was going when we arrived and the extras provided for us were much appreciated! (Sparkling wine in the fridge, bread, milk, olives, chocolate, and many condiments in the pantry). We had a lovely stay!

Castle Cottage is a lovely place to escape. Very comfortable and well set up in a picturesque rural setting. Rain was heavy during our stay, but the sound on the tin roof and the wood fire helped! We stayed at Lucy's cottage over a weekend in summer when the days are long and you can really enjoy the beautiful skies and sunsets in this part of Victoria. The cottage was exactly as you see it in the photos, super clean, filled with natural light and comfortable. We visited both of the wineries on the property and will definitely be back! Loved staying here, highly recommended.

This is a quaint old-fashioned house that is extremely comfortable and relaxing. It is about a 5 minute walk to the main street, but it is a pleasant walk. Absolutely recommend this place for a quiet getaway or a wineries weekend.

I felt immediately welcome in Kay's gorgeous home, she has a beautiful position in Corowa, close walking distance to everything. The garden is a delight. I loved the bike tracks around the river and the local art gallery is a must see.
