Food Scene
Cicio Cacio has authentic Italian food, a varied menu and great service. It is pretty lively and noisy in a good way. The decor is Swiss Chalet - don't let this deter you - it is the best Italian in Wellington - No Pizza on the menu.
The panna cotta is to live for and the lemon pasta superb. It is pretty busy all nights so go early or book. Saturday lunch can be a good time to go and they often have a Sat lunch deal.

The coffee is excellent and you can sit and have coffee and croissant in the bakery or take away. An incredible food experience.

Zealandia is a great experience for anyone who loves the outdoors, is interested in birds and birds of New Zealand walking-running in nature, tramping-hiking.
It is the first urban sanctuary of it's size, in the world.
The birdlife is varied and astonishing - birds you would normally never see in the wild. This is a sanctuary not a zoo experience so you wont always see something, but if you dont...go back another day.
With 32km of walking tracks you can spend the entire day there. There is also wheelchair and pram friendly routes and an excellent cafe with locally sourced produce and a lot of vegetarian/vegan options - licensed.
There are buses from the city and it is on the city fringe.

Te Papa is the national museum and host interesting permanent exhibitions and visiting shows. Located on the waterfront it is a great area of the city and close to the city beach, weekend markets and eateries.
