Rogers Reservoir Conservation Area

Encounter great blue herons, American coots and sora rails at Rogers Reservoir Conservation Area. This 84 hectare site is a great place to watch nesting birds, cast a fishing line, and cycle along trails which are part of the Nokiidaa Trail system linking the Towns of Aurora, Newmarket and East Gwillimbury. The concrete lock and its swing bridge are remnants of a 'Ghost' Canal System built and abandoned in the early 1900's - without ever having been used. Need some help finding your way? Nokiidaa Trail

"Nokiidaa" is an Ojibwa term meaning "walking Together". The Nokiidaa Trail links three communities (Aurora, Newmarket and East Gwillimbury), following the East Holland River. The trail passes through town parks and green spaces, past wetlands and historic cultural sites, and has links to numerous other town trails.

Shawneeki Golf Club

We cater to public golfers, tournament golfers and members at our championship 18 hole golf course that winds around the Black River and many man made ponds. The course is very walkable but power carts are available with GPS to help you get around with yardages at your fingertips. Shawneeki operates a great all-natural driving range cut to fairway height to simulate shots you would be hitting on the course in addition to putting and chipping practice greens. The Shawneeki Club House offers lots of choice food selections and the banquet hall was just updated and looks spectacular.
