On a summer weekend this park is completely full with groups of friends eating and drinking and having picnics. Be mindful that drinking in the park is not legal, but everyone does it anyway.

A $7 ferry ride gets you across to the Toronto Islands, a massive public park in Toronto's harbour. It has the best view back of the Toronto skyline. Hanlan's point has a clothing optional beach to visit, Centreville is great for kids and families, or wander the tiny streets on Ward's island to see the cottage-style homes of people who live on the islands. A great escape from the city, but so close to downtown.

Hands down one of our favourite restaurants - it's tiny and they do not take reservations, so it's best to go on a week night. The food is a contemporary take on japanese, with delicious cocktails, and a really cool industrial setting. Be warned, the music is often loud, so it's a lively spot but you'll have to speak loudly to your dining companion.

This neighbourhood is a great place to wander and eat and drink. A lively neighbourhood that is full of bars, restaurants, vintage stores, butchers, bakers, and fishmongers. Ontario Place was an expo-type place, then an amusement park, and is now open as a park. Explore 'Trillium Park' a beautiful new park on the east end, or the 'West Island' with old amusement park features that have long-been closed. The Cinesphere and Pods are amazing modernist architecture from the 70's, and the Cinesphere, the world's first IMAX theatre, still shows movies, sometimes old IMAX favourites.
