I’m a sucker for this little cafe—it’s my go-to brunch spot the day after a show at Pappy & Harriet’s. Like pretty much everything else on this list, it’s just two minutes down the street in town. You’ll find hearty options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner (but like I said, breakfast is my fave). There’s something for everyone on the menu—lookin’ at you, my plant-based friends.

Her menu of sweet and savory baked goods, many of which are vegan or gluten-free, changes daily based on seasonality. Weekends bring an early morning rush, so don’t go crying to Boo if she’s sold out of coffee cake because you slept in.

Head that way before sunset (it’s about a 20-minute drive) so you can poke around the old movie set adjacent to the restaurant, and call ahead for a reservation—wait times can be up to an hour (or more) otherwise.

Dogs are welcome! So long as they're on a 6-foot-max leash and you don't stray more than 100 feet from any road. When entering the park, ask the ranger to point out the dirt roads, which are basically wide trails you can hike with your pup. It gets majorly hot out there though, so bring more water (and snacks) than you think you'll need.
