Our 23-year-old son LOVES this place. He would recommend the fatty pork ramen with crunch onion and garlic as well as the sesame chicken appetizer. (Full disclosure, Ken and Shannon do not like the ramen but do enjoy the sesame chicken.)

Entertainment & Activities
No visit to Southern California is complete without a visit to the "Happiest Place on Earth." If you have little ones, it is absolutely precious to see their wonder and excitement when they meet their favorite Disney characters. Our daughter met Cinderella at the Princess Brunch when she was four years old, and it was magical. Older kids (and adults) love the rides, shows, and parades. The nightly fireworks show is spectacular -- as well as visible from many parts of OC. Our favorite rides are Space Mountain and Pirates of the Caribbean at Disneyland and the Cars Ride and Soarin' Around the World at California Adventure. To save time and avoid parking fees, we recommend Lyft or Uber. We also recommend purchasing Genie +.

Downtown Disney is the "free" part of the Disneyland Resort. Just about a block or two long, Downtown Disney's architecture and decorations are wonderfully fun and inventive with all the attention to detail that Disney is famous for. Great for walking around, live outdoor entertainment, people watching, and shopping. Restaurants tend to be pricy.

Parks & Nature
Hillcrest Park, established about 100 years ago, is Fullerton's oldest park. If you have kids, you may want to visit the new "Tot Lot." (Be sure you go to the playground off of Lemon Street, NOT the old one off of E. Valley View.) There's a big grassy hill right next to the playground, and kids of all ages love to run up and down that hill.

Fullerton has 23 miles of trails. The Juanita Cooke Park Trail is very close to the apartment, yet feels quite remote from the city. This easy 2.5 mile walking and biking trail ends at a lovely neighborhood pond called Laguna Lake and is great for all ages. Round trip 5 miles takes about two hours. For variety, take the Hiltscher Trail which is about halfway between the trailhead and the Laguna Lake. The trailhead is a 15-minute walk from Treetop Hideaway: head north on Richman, turn east on Valley View; the trailhead is on your left after a few blocks.

Arts & Culture
The Fullerton Museum is a great little museum. If you are a musician or love rock music, you may be interested to know that Leo Fender, the inventor of the Fender guitar, was from Fullerton. In addition to the interesting traveling exhibits hosted by the Fullerton Museum, there's always something about Fender.
Directly across the street is a terrific little playground. Very modern, colorful style. The off-kilter merry-go-round, which we fondly call the "wheel of doom," fascinates kids of all ages.
