On the one side of the view point you see the mountains form the shape of the Africa continent around the Kaaimans River and on the other side of the view point you can see the whole village of Wilderness with the serpentine lagoons and ocean stretching to Sedgefield.

Paradise Ridge forms a nature lover’s playground, with sand dunes and hills surrounded by lush fynbos and forest areas. It offers breathtaking views of the coastline, mountains and lakes with plenty of activities to entertain you with. From the top of the ridge you can see from Gerickes point to Mossel Bay with the latter’s lights most evenings clearly visible.

Arum StParadise Ridge forms a nature lover’s playground, with sand dunes and hills surrounded by lush fynbos and forest areas. It offers breathtaking views of the coastline, mountains and lakes with plenty of activities to entertain you with. From the top of the ridge you can see from Gerickes point to Mossel Bay with the latter’s lights most evenings clearly visible.

This route was made famous by Dalene Mathee who wrote the award winning book Kringe in die Bos (Circles in the Forest) as it was inspired by this forest. The Circles in the Forest (Kringe in die bos) trail is situated in the Goldfield State Forest and starts/ends at the Krisjan-se-Nek picnic site where you can braai and lie on the green grass. It is a beautiful easy to moderate walk through the forest. There is a swimming spot in a cool forest pool with small fish species in and also a beautiful pool with a waterfall. There are sections where you walk amongst huge forest ferns and frog-filled streams with small wooden bridges.
Distance: There are two options available, a short 3.1km circle route and a 9km circle route.
Difficulty: Easy to moderate.
Route markers: Follow the plastic 'Circles in the Forest' route markers.
Permits/Costs:
Permits obtainable at the entrance gate at Bibby's Hoek.

Follow this road for 12.6km and take the Bibby's Hoek / Millwood Gold Fields turnoff to the right (becomes gravel just after the turn). You will reach a four way crossing with a boom, sign in and pay here. Sometime out of season this boom is open and unmanned. Follow this road to the Dalene Matthee Memorial at the Krisjan Se Nek picnic site, 4km. The hike starts here.

Goukamma NR Entrance - Take the Buffalo bay turn-off on the N2. Just follow the road for a few kilometres until you reach the gate of Cape Nature on your right by the river.
Blombos trailhead at Groenvlei - Take the Groenvlei turn-off from the N2 just to the east of Sedgefield. Follow the green and blue Cape Nature signposts on the dirt road leading to a small parking spot at he Groenvlei Trailhead.

Goukamma NR Entrance - Take the Buffalo bay turn-off on the N2. Just follow the road for a few kilometres until you reach the gate of Cape Nature on your right by the river.
Blombos trailhead at Groenvlei - Take the Groenvlei turn-off from the N2 just to the east of Sedgefield. Follow the green and blue Cape Nature signposts on the dirt road leading to a small parking spot at he Groenvlei Trailhead.

Gua Cango
The Cango Caves is a cultural and natural landmark in South Africa. The 20 million year-old Cango Caves system consists of a series of hidden chambers cut deep into a thick limestone rock layer. It is situated in the Swartberg Mountains, 30 kilometres north of Oudtshoorn, in South Africa’s Western Cape Province.

The Knysna Zipline has especially been designed and installed to enhance the natural beauty of the Kranshoek Sanparks picnic site.
The ziplines are some of the longest you will experience and definitely not for someone with a fear of heights. Extremely long cables crisscross the gorge at the picnic site and with heights of +- 200 meters it will certainly be a memorable experience.
They are currently working on a domestic rate, which aims to make the zipline experience affordable to all South African Residents.
The rate will be R600 pp. – bookings are essential, as they have limited capacity due to Covid 19 regulation.
At an additional cost of R150 per person, they will drive you into the park on one of our vehicles. Alternately you can self-drive your own vehicle at no additional cost.
GoPro rental – R350 per go pro – you will receive the SD card after the trip (you are responsible for your own footage and guides will help where possible)
Important to note – All booked participants and enquiries must visit their office at Harkerville Forest Lodge prior to driving into the park. All admin relating to participating in the adventure needs to be completed before entering the park.
