The feudal village of Beynac is a perfectly preserved medieval village, with the Dordogne River at its doorstep. Nested between cliff and river, the walk up on tiny paved streets to the Château's doors is steep but truly rewarding. With its unique character, Beynac castle is one of the best-preserved and most renowned of the region. This 12th-century medieval building towers over the Dordogne River and overlooks the village, built up on its right bank.
