Checkout the smaller beaches of Barricane Combesgate and Shellsborough, all within the fabulous Esplanade area. Great selection of pubs and restaurants along with plenty of individual shops selling everything from pasties (Fudgies Bakehouse) to Dryrobes. Woolacombe Bay Hotel has a cinema which is super luxurious and is open to non residents.

The surf here is excellent and there are also numerous lovely places to eat and drink including the Thatch, Billy Buds and Blue Groove. At the start of Baggy Point you will find a fabulous National Trust tearoom called Sandleigh.
Days out
Ilfracombe has a pretty harbour as well as beautiful stretches of the south west coast path. There are lots of lovely places to eat and drink in Ilfracombe as well as some traditional seaside attractions like crazy golf and a seaside theatre. You can also get excellent boat excursions from the harbour

A lovely picturesque village with a beautiful beach. Lots of restaurants and good pubs make this a really good day out. The walk from Woolacombe via Marine Drive car park and Putsborough will add some steps to your day and make way for that Devon cream tea!

A lovely family run aquarium located in the old lifeboat station on Ilfracombe harbour, definitely worth a visit. They also have a little cafe located in the former Rocket shed.

This restaurant has got better and better! Great food produced on the premises by a talented chef, Andy Bird and lovely surroundings. The owners have put lots of time and effort restoring this building. Also known for great homemade cakes.

If a countryside experience is what you're looking for then this place is a must! Sunday lunch in the Coach House is a fabulous affair and and Afternoon Tea is perfect too. The daytime and evening menu is brilliant and on some evenings there is live music. The gardens are gorgeous and make a delightful backdrop for a lunchtime or afternoon cooler!

A very well run and beautifully located hotel with a fabulous seaview restaurant and bistro with al fresco dining too.
Sunday lunch in the main restaurant is excellent and I would thoroughly recommend.

Food shopping
Woolacombe has a very well stocked Londis for all your daily needs and Post Office. Mortehoe had Grunta local shop for food and a separate Post Office opposite. Lidl in Ilfracombe is a 10 minute drive and there is also a Tesco in Ilfracombe a similar distance. Delivery supermarkets locally are Sainsburys, Tesco, Waitrose and Morrisons. There are some great independent shops in nearby Ilfracombe: Turtons Butchers, S&P fresh fish shop at the harbour and a good health food store and a couple of bakeries.
