A favorite stop of mine off the Rail Trail from Poughkeepsie (N. Grand Ave is closest entry from the house) over the bridge and into Highland for a well deserved morning coffee after a long early morning ride, and a cold craft beer before returning home.

For those who prefer to drive, there is parking at either end of the bridge.

On the Ulster side (opposite side of the river) of the Walkway Over the Hudson is the Hudson Valley Rail Trail, a 7.1-mile asphalt trail which ends in New Paltz. It starts off near the shops in the hamlet of Highland and then turns into more wide-open space.
