2020 NPS fee-free days Jan 20, Apr 18, Aug 25, Nov 11. Yes, the 90 minute drive to Crater Lake itself is pretty accurate. According to google maps, it is 46.7 miles, 52 minutes to Crater Lake National Park Entrance Gate. From there, it is 17.5 miles, 25 minutes to Rim Village. To get there, go on Hwy 97 north with views of Upper Klamath Lake and Mt. McLoughlin speed limit is 65 mph. After crossing the Williamson River, watch for the Hwy 62 turnoff, speed limit 55. Once inside the Park speed limit is reduced 45 mph. It's a beautiful drive, not too long, although for some, it may seem rather long. Enjoy!!
