Food Scene
By now 'Wilde Zwijnen' has become an Amsterdam institution. Great food, great wine, and great beer. It's a little on the expensive side, but definitely worth it. Call ahead to make a reservation, because it is usually packed.
It is actually 2 restaurantes. Our favorite is the smaller of the 2 called Bar Wilde Zijnen.

De Biertuin is famous in Amsterdam for it's great outside space, and perhaps more importantly, for its fantastic roasted chicken and prize winning hamburgers!

It is a new place in one of the old building from the old gas factory that used to be there ). Now it is a nice microbrewery / bar / restaurtant. Also has a nice (heated) terrace.
