Bit of a hike (30min drive) but well worth it for a funky vibe food caravan located at the Bush Fairy Diary. If your a vegetarian their vege pattys are a must! home made beetroot & black bean patties - say no more! Also amazing meat burgers also. My absolute favorite place to eat in the area

You cannot beat these ice creams (chocolate dipped with sprinkles you name it they do it) its a local hot spot - grab an ice cream and walk across the road to beautiful Cable bay.

Worth the trip to this stunning spot.
On the way home you could stop at Karikari estate for lunch wine is good food is so so but the view from the restaurant makes it all worth it

If your heading back to kerikeri or south and have time turn off left at the Whangaroa one way bridge and follow the coast/scenic road home it eventually loops back out before Waipapa but every beach is beautiful on this road especially Tauranga bay get out and go for a walk to the northern end through the cave
