My Favorite Neighborhood Spots
Ridgewood is an awesome up-and-coming neighborhood with new spots popping up all the time. These are some places in the neighborhood that are (mostly) within walking distance that are personal favorites!
Norma's is a coffee shop with a large selection of breakfast sandwiches and pastries. They support other local businesses by purchasing local meats and other ingredients.
PRO TIP: Don't go when you're in a hurry! Norma's is a delightful, quaint spot, and the food is great, but speed ain't their thing! :)
**Get 'The New Yorker'! Especially great for a hangover ;)

Cafe Esencia has the best coffee in the neighborhood! They also serve delicious Spanish-inspired tapas food and churros! I LOVE their Spanish Tortilla.
The lighting here is great and it's a quiet spot to get work done. The staff is delightful - say hi to Andrés, the owner who is a neighborhood local as well!
Sustainability tip: Bring home their to-go cups, which can be composted! Better yet, take your own cup, which they are happy to fill :)

The newest addition to the neighborhood...FINALLY a natural wine shop!! They have a fabulous selection of affordable and more importantly, delicious natural wines. The shop owner is the *nicest* and is quick to offer helpful suggestions!

If you want to get some yoga in while you're visiting, this place is great! It lacks the air of pretentiousness that some NYC studios invoke, and welcome everyone with open arms.

DO NOT MISS a trip to Joe's during your stay. This is old-school New York Italian at it's finest. The restaurant is owned and run by one one family - all the staff are related! Not only is the food delicious (and portions huge!), but the atmosphere and overall experience make this one of the most delightful spots in the neighborhood.

Not only is the food delicious (and portions huge!), but the atmosphere and overall experience make this one of the most delightful spots in the neighborhood.
Paradise Lounge has recently been renovated into a delicious tiki-style rum bar with a quick-service food counter. The drinks are the star here!
