1.12 hr drive and its quite a hike first along beside a river and the up, steeply up till you reach the cave. Magnificent! Can combine this with Crystal pools, Pupu Springs, Harwoods hole all in one very hard out day trip! For a more relaxing adventure you would need to choose just two or three options.

This is very close to us, just a couple of valleys over. If you visit here you have to swim here! Jump into a deep pool of the coldest water you have experienced unless you are a regular ice water swimmer.

57mins from our place to Flora car park, from here you can do a short and very easy walk to Flora hut. Even grandma can walk here. Or you can take the track up to Mount Arthur hut. This is a hard slog of about 2 hours up hill, but it is safe and easy. From here the more experienced can climb to the top of Mount Arthur or just walk on the Mount Arthur range following the snow posts. Return trip. Mount Arthur range is susceptible to visibility issues with thick fog descending. If you are not an experienced tramper you could easily loose your way. The climate can be very wild up here even in summer so always carry a rain/wind jacket and something warm and some food and water.
