Hands down our pick for the best hummus in Sydney, the guys at Thievery continue to plate up seriously tasty goods time and time again. A modern take on Lebanese food, we can’t go past The Stolen Nine share menu which, at $50 per head, is an absolute steal and lets you try almost all of the things (which is always a win for us).

This is where you go for Italian food just like Nonna makes. What’s exciting about this place though is that their menu changes monthly, with the dishes focussing on a particular region so you can become accustomed with all of the best culinary traditions of the old country.

BREWRISTA: One word comes to mind when we think of this place and that’s, you guessed it, coffee. It’s serious business at this Glebe café and so it should be, with some of the best you’ll taste this side of Surry Hills. There’s also a great brunch list and a range of things ready to go.

What started as a seriously good food truck, Mama Linh, Hem Nine Nine is a multi-levelled restaurant inspired by the streets of Saigon. Expect to share and, if you’re game, eat with your hands. All the favourites are here, including steamed baos, duck rice paper rolls and, of course, pho.

There from pretty much the beginning, this café on Glebe Point Road is open every day with a menu that blends the best of foods from right across the world. It is also the place to take that friend who’s always on a diet (you know the one) with their range of low calorie options, as well as gluten free, nut free and vegan friendly treats.

If you like your dining casual, with a little side of fancy, then you sir have come to the right place. A favourite with locals, the Glebe Point Diner is where you go for a delicious goats curd tortellini with brown mushrooms, amongst others, and a rather impressive wine list.

Often mentioned when it comes to one of Sydney’s best roasts, Alfie and Hetty has some serious roast game. Expect the likes of 18 hour slow cooked lamb shoulder and two day braised beef smoky short ribs, and we could go on. But we won’t. All we will say is wear stretchy pants.

In The Annex is a great spot for breakfast, brunch and lunch. Technically in Forest Lodge, but so close they deserve a mention, head in for their damn good bacon, egg and kale roll, or a bowl of their house made granola. There’s also a great selection of baked goods and some interesting house specialties like their ginger and soy braised eggplant stack on top of house scrambled eggs, just trust us, it works.

Originating in Malaysia in 2005 and expanding to now more than 80 outlets worldwide, Broadway is the latest mark on the map from the PappaRich Group. The spacious, earthy-coloured decor provides a relaxed dining ambience among the energetic crowd, while the staff is fast and attentive. But it's the food and drinks at PappaRich that will have you repeatedly braving the long queue - the menu provides your quintessential Malay dishes (such as Laksa, Nasi Lemak and Mee Goreng), with 60 PappaRich beverage varieties. Fresh juices with spirits may well be the cocktail creation from a hipster’s dream and we surely aren’t complaining. This is the spot for a share plate and a good ol’ fashion boogie, because we’ve seen you dancing and we know you like to get down.

Set inside an old steelworks, Staves is serious when it comes to Australian beer. There’s eight on tap and the team here support the local suspects like Young Henrys and Wayward, making it the perfect place to up your beer knowledge or just throw back a couple of cold ones.

Everything Else

Only 5 minutes walk from our apartment, Glebe Markets is one of Sydney's most well known Saturday markets with diversity, character and style. This Saturday come down and have some thing to eat and relax on the lawn. Listen to the music and soak up the atmosphere. Praised as Sydney’s best vintage market this is definitely the place to go for vintage clothing and gorgeous handmade jewellery. However the food offering here is serious and varied with eats from around the world, including Turkish, Spanish and Mexican, as well as live music, and some seriously good, albeit random, finds

What’s better than curling up with a good book and a glass of red? Listening to some live acoustic music while you do it, obviously. This second hand bookshop is the kind of place you can get lost in for hours, and we recommend getting lost on a Thursday or Friday night when you can enjoy live music from a range of artists.

This has been my local shopping center for a long time so I have quite a soft spot for it. It has a fantastic range of everything you could want when shopping. They're are heaps of clothes shops, lots of places to get electronics and entertainment, great places to fill the pantry and fridge and also a Hoyts cinema to boot. On top of this it's food court has recently had a massive upgrade for the better and has a wide range of options to grab lunch or dinner during a weekend or late night shopping session. The free parking for 2 hours is also pretty awesome (and why its so busy!), and if you are here for the cinemas, you can extend that by an hour.
