If you're looking for the local diner that serves awesome breakfast and lunch, this is your spot. My personal favorite is the Rumsey Burger but my son would tell you the sausage gravy and biscuits is the best. You'll love the atmosphere, it's everything a great small town diner should be.

If Guy Fieri ever visits Shepherdstown, this will be his first stop. Everything they serve is "outta bounds"!!!! The Pork Belly sandwich is life changing. If there's a long line (usually is), trust me, it's worth the wait.

The deadliest one-day battle in American history occurred just outside of Shepherdstown, in Sharpsburg, MD. 23,000 casualties in less than 24 hours, the battle of Antietam was vital in shaping America's future. Touring the battle field is a great way to take in the history but also makes for a beautiful scenic hike.

About a 25 minute drive from the Scrabble Schoolhouse, is Harpers Ferry National Historical Park. The hiking, sightseeing, small shops and restaurants make this a great place to visit. Highly recommend you check out MD Heights and Jefferson Rock hiking trails while you're there.
