Sightseeing
The welland canal is 42 kms in length and connects Lakes Ontario and Erie, this is where the “ships climb the mountain” (Niagara escarpment) there are 8 locks in total 4 of them within a short distance from our house the highest point of the locks is lock 7 which is right up the street in Thorold. There was a tourist tax added to many restaurants down in the Clifton hill falls view area etc. some dispute this tax some restaurants will take it off some won’t. Restaurants away from the touristy area do not charge this...
