This centre, which protects the highly endangered Rothschild’s giraffe, combines serious conservation with enjoyable activities. You can observe, hand-feed or even kiss one of the giraffes from a raised wooden structure, which is quite an experience. You may also spot warthogs snuffling about in the mud, and there’s an interesting self-guided forest walk through the adjacent Gogo River Bird Sanctuary.

This is well worth a visit. The art work is stunning and varied and very well set out. You’ll be stunned when you drive into the car park and that will carry on when you go indoors. Pictures, sculptures etc will impress you immensely. There is also a lively cafe and sitting area in the garden.

I highly recommend a visit to Langata Links if you are looking for unique and high end gifts or mementos from Nairobi. It carries a large number of local artists and designers and has beautiful things. This is not a souvenir shop but a true representation of local designers. The quality and uniqueness is high and you'll pick up some treasures for yourself or others. The Tin Roof Cafe right in the center of the shops is a wonderful place for a coffee or for lunch.
