Wonderful traditional Northern Michigan diner. They have a really good breakfast menu. Get there early it is pretty popular with the locals. The best homemade toast and awesome grilled cinnamon rolls.
If we are a little late getting up and it is busy I order "to go" and surprise everyone with breakfast already made and on the table :-D Enjoy!

A beautiful 25 minute drive from the house to the historic beautiful little town of Central Lake. Often over looked this community is home to the Blue Pelican Inn and Restaurant.
This boutique turn of the century hotel was recently remolded a few years ago. With both indoor and outdoor dining you can order seafood, Italian, and American food. A little secret, try the crab cakes appetizer :-)

Only an hour and half beautiful drive from the house is the historic Mackinaw Island. Leave early and take the early ferry from Mackinaw Island and experience the beautiful sunrise over Lake Huron. Weather permitting of course. Be sure to take the Boyne Falls to Wolverine, Mi route for a beautiful drive.

A locals favorite sand beach with beautiful sunsets. The water gradually deepens so good for children. Right next door traveling west just past the park entrance is a county road leading to a township park that adjoins Young State Park. If you find this little hidden park you avoid the busyness of the state park .

Right next door traveling west just past the park entrance is a county road leading to a township park that adjoins Young State Park. If you find this little hidden park you avoid the busyness of the state park .
Another great beach for sunsets while watching boat traffic on the channel inlet.

If your looking to experience a taste of living in a picturesque small rural Northern Michigan Community where many business owners, municipal employees, civic leaders and residents know each other by first name? East Jordan is a friendly and wonderful place to do just that.
The home is located on the residential end of Main Street just a short walk from the quaint turn of the century downtown business district and municipal marina situated on the South Arm of Lake Charlevoix.
One of our favorite activities during the summer or winter is a short morning walk downtown to the South Arm Cafe (locals breakfast spot) or grab a specialty coffee at the Iron Goat Coffee store and then a few steps over to view the morning wildlife of the Jordan River estuary. This is also the spot where the Jordan River meets Lake Charlevoix and home to the municipal marina where the view is beautiful to sit and enjoy your coffee with that special person. We also enjoy walking the marina boardwalk and seeing boats from all over the Great Lakes or possibly other parts of the world.
Looking for some morning or afternoon water activities/adventure on the Jordan River with family or as a corporate team building activity? The experts at Jordan Valley Outfitters can set you up for winter rafting excursions or summer kayaking/canoeing.
East Jordan's early history as lumber shipping port lent to many of the residential neighbor hoods and homes being from this modest turn of the century period mixed with homes built since that time.
City of East Jordan Amenities:
*Municipal Marina w shoppers dock for temporary mooring and easy access to downtown restaurants and shopping. For overnight mooring check for availability and more information about the marina please call the City of East Jordan or the DNR Online Reservations web site.
*Municipal Lake Charlevoix South Arm beaches are located at the Tourist Park and Elm Pointe. Please note: no life guards are on duty at these beaches.
*Boat Launch to Lake Charlevoix - South Arm
* Fishing Pier
* Tennis Courts, Basketball courts and pickle ball courts.
*Nearby access to the Jordan Valley Snowmobile Trail System and mountain bike trails.
