Best prime rib ever! And my favorite stop coming home from Radium or just hanging out for the day in the mountains. This place is fine dining but also family friendly. It is always busy so earlier is better than later to start your dinner.

Cool and familiar coffee, tea and treats. Great place to pick up your coffee to go or just to sit and plan your day in Cochrane. Love the smell when I walk in here. Yummm!

It only comes once a year but it is "Cowboy Central" for first 10 days of July. Rodeo, "Greatest outdoor Grandstand show and Chuckwagon races in the world" Easy access if you drive into Calgary and park at one of the LRT stations along Crowchild Tr. Riding the LRT is the best way to get into and out of downtown Calgary. Sure beats parking downtown. Parking is available at multiple lots along Crowchild Trail.

Very reasonable day of fun for all ages

Very reasonable day of fun for all ages
Parks & Nature
This is a great place to relax after a day of hiking or skiing in or around Banff. Feels amazing and a must if you are hanging out in Banff for the day. Lots of visitors come here but always come back for more of the "magical mineral waters".

This is another great destination for a day-trip from Cochrane. about a 3 hour drive but absolutely worth the trip. You will likely see all kinds of wildlife on the way, like grizzly and black bears, big horn sheep, goats, elk, moose, eagles, and lots of deer. Goat and sheep often graze on the cliffs surrounding the hot pools. You wont believe how great the hot pools feel in both summer and winter. way less busy in winter and spectacular ice hanging from the trees and rocky ledges around the pools. I love to stop in Canmore on the way home for dinner at Patrinos. Makes me smile just thinking about it.

This is my kind of trail for hiking, not to steep, guard rails and stunning waterfall waiting for you at the top of the hike. only about a mile and decent footings all the way. Your pictures will be your prize possessions from this day in the mountains.

This is a nice area for hiking, cycling or just strolling along. Park benches are placed along the river for resting or just daydreaming. The pond is stocked with fish and is free fishing for kids!

Lake Louise may not be one of the 8 wonders of the world but it certainly is one of the most iconic locations in all of Canada. You won't believe the color of the lake and the castle-like Chateau Lake Louise. Easy hiking trail around the lake. Gets more difficult the closer you get to the base of the glacier. Best to visit mid week because everyone has this on their bucket list of places to see.

Great hiking here but it is also a very nice lodge. some shops and mountain gear available and spectacular views. Nice for just people watching too. This too was one of the event sights for the '88 Olympics.

Every Saturday during the summer, a wonderful Farmer's market sets up from about 9 to 1. Local growers and handmade items are on hand. Some even have free samples. Always fun to shop and chat with the artisans.
