Enjoy a great hike up to Haystack, you will be staying in the valley at the base of this mountain! You can walk from house or drive 2 minutes to the trail entrance. How cool is that? This lovely trail can be done in less than 45 mins (one way, the return is usually quicker) from the trail entrance to the top. I has a good amount of uphill and downhill terrain along the way and a bustling clean creek through it. Very nice yet challenging- most people can get up there for a sunset and back down before dark.

This is a great hike almost 15 minutes away from home. Although tipically done in 2.5 hrs to the top (one way, from the trail entrance) it can be done in much less time by walking quickly. The hike is worth the view. For those who want this lovely Vermont mountain sunset view without the hike, simply walk 7-10 mins from welcome center parking lot to the Maple Syrup House and enjoy amazing view from there. Really!

Merck Forest & Farmland Center
3270 VT-315This is a great hike almost 15 minutes away from home. Although tipically done in 2.5 hrs to the top (one way, from the trail entrance) it can be done in much less time by walking quickly. The hike is worth the view. For those who want this lovely Vermont mountain sunset view without the hike, simply walk 7-10 mins from welcome center parking lot to the Maple Syrup House and enjoy amazing view from there. Really!

Another great stop with default pictures that don't much. This has the cutest self serve store around! Walk in for some fresh raw milk and home make own cheese!!! I'll do my best provide you with Cheese cloth and some Rennet. Nice selection of locsl products. Love that place! It's a visit because this store perfectly showcases the openness, the quality and care of Vermont farmers who leave their hard worked products open to all based an honor system. Closed on Tuesdays btw.

Only market town and we are fortunate enough that its a good one! Ask to see the gorge from inside the restaurant. Next to two three cute restaurants too.
