This is a wonderful place to walk to from the house. The National Trust look after the buildings and surroundings that inspired John Constable in years gone by. Great tea shop and ice cream booth. Just walk through the gate on the far boundary of the development pass the green box and then bare right and follow the track. Ideal dog walk.

The River Stour is a wonderful river that is 47 miles long and forms most of the county boundary between Suffolk to the north, and Essex to the south. It flows through the Dedham Vale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and becomes tidal just before Manningtree in Essex and joins the North Sea at Harwich. It is a honey pot for wildlife and birds and offers the opportunity to enjoy its banks on foot or for the more adventurous to explore further afield on a canoe, paddleboard, rowing boat or kayak. Its stunning vistas have been the inspiration for many artists in the past.
