Meaning ‘home’ in Flemish, it’s hard not to feel like you’ve walked into one at this pocket-sized Belgian bar and kitchen. Hop-crazy drinkers will adore the intriguing 60-strong selection of bottled and draught beers, which rotates almost by the week.
The focus might be on beer here, but it’s a serious love letter to the compact country’s comfort food: start with the flammeküche (pastry pizza with lardons, shallots, cheese and crème fraïche), before picking one of six different buckets of moules (with twice cooked frites, no less).

July 2022. Simon and Diane had a very enjoyable evening together at our new Thai restaurant on Osborne Road. They told me the food was excellent, portions generous and the price was reasonable. They said to be sure to recommend Siam Square to future guests and I must say this is one place I hope to take Angelina to when we can make it :-)

I recommended the "Country Pantry" because the first time I went was in the eighties and all that has changed since then is the carpet and the fact that the daughter has taken over. They enjoyed the experience so much they returned the next day for one of their lovely homemade roast lunch specials, which they told me they thoroughly enjoyed :-)

Sharron told me she was particularly impressed with the Alecio’s Moqueca (a traditional Brazilian stew with cod, peeled shrimp, mixed peppers, onions, garlic and coriander in a rich tomato sauce served with coconut rice), and Barry with the Slow Cooked Pork Belly.
